U9-U14 Play-offs - 10 Point system & tie-breaker rules
No Overtime or PK Rules apply to Play-off games unless they are in the Semi or Final Rounds. Standard League player substitution rules apply for all Non-Standing and Play-off games.
Coaches should report scores for all Play-off within 24hrs of each game. LNYSA uses a 10 point scoring system for each game played. This system is used to determine which teams qualify to proceed to the Semi Final rounds. The point system is outlined below:
6 Points for a Win
3 Points for a Tie
1 Point for a Goal (max of 3 goals)
1 Point for a Shutout (0-0 Tie is deemed a shutout & each team would receive 1 Point)
In the event two teams are tied in the standings, LNYSA tiebreaker rules apply to determine which team advances to the next round:
First, The winner of head to head competition
Second, Goals against
Third, Goals for
Fourth, Goal differential, based on a maximum of 3 goals per game
Fifth, Coin flip, by the Tournament Director
Please also note that if a team Forfeits a playoff game the game shall be recorded as 1-0 and eight (8) points awarded to the opponent. If a Red card is issued during a Playoff game One (1) point will be deducted for each coach or player ejected (red carded). A team can receive negative points for a match.
Coaches, If questions arise please contact your Division Director or email scheduler@lnysa.org

Re-scheduling games in the Spring Season
NOTE on RE-SCHEDULING GAMES: Coaches should make every attempt to play games as scheduled. Scheduling is tight, so rescheduling is difficult however if you find you do not have enough players for a game in the Spring advise your Div Director and fieldbookings AT LEAST 3 days before your game - DO NOT WAIT TILL FRIDAY NIGHT IT WILL BE TOO LATE
TO REQUEST A RE_SCHEDULING FOLLOW THESE STEPS
(1) Contact your Div Director at least 3 days before your game & advise the reason for the reschedule
(2) Contact the opposing coach to request a re-schedule to gain consent.
(3) If you have agreement of the opposing coach - mutual consent is needed contact Fieldbookings
(4) Email fieldbookings@lnysa.org advising of the game# time/date of game and request a re-schedule.
(5) Advise of ANY dates and times you can't make for the re-schedule
(6) If an available time can be found the reschedule will be APPROVED by fieldbookings
(7) The fieldbooking team wil re-schedule and update the schedule.
(8) Please email ref@lnysa.org advising the game has been rescheduled so the refs can be advised
All Re-schedule requests must be initiated & Agreed before Wednesday evening prior to the date of the weekend game to allow enough time to re-schedule a game.
MAKE IT EASIER ON THE SCHEDULING TEAM: Mark all emails "game re-schedule request" in the subject field and tell us what Division you coach.
