Spring Soccer 2008

Posted January 23, 2008
Cal South does not run the Spring Soccer program for Signature League teams.

A Spring Soccer Program is run by the JUSA organization (Placentia-Yorba Linda). All information regarding Spring soccer is available on their website - JUSA.ORG

JUSA has a Gold bracket for Signature League and Recreational All-Star teams. They also field a Recreational only bracket. Participating Club-Teams must have a Home field and be able to host games during the Spring season. Spring competition is not quite as intense as the fall season, but good competition. Deadline is Feb 20th.

Coast Soccer League also runs a Spring Soccer program. That deadline is Feb.10th. Info is available at - coastsoccer.com
We hope this information is useful to your team.

Other Signature League News Items

The 50% playing time rule is a key element of the Signature League Soccer. Recently, a coach was found violating this rule - that coach is no longer in the Signature League program.
Three other coaches are now under investigation for violation the player 50% rule or for violating Signature League Rules, Regulations or Procedures.

You may contact the Signature League Director with any questions or concerns regarding the Signature League Program.

Notes to Parents

8-16-2007

We realize that players and parents participating in Signature League are experiencing a new environment that is different from Recreational soccer. There are a few items that every player and parent should know and understand.
1. Each player should play at least 50% of every game.
2. There is more travel involved than recreational play.
3. No player/parent should pay more than $300 to participate in Signature League soccer. If you have paid more than that amount, you should ask for a refund from your team or coach.
4. Teams should not have a Full-Time PAID trainer. Paying for some limited or short term training of players is o.k.
5. The Regular season runs until Thanksgiving. All teams are entered into League play-offs which occur in December.

We hope you have a great season. There are excellent soccer games to be watched.

Ed Bonkoski Signature League Director
