Welcome to the AYSO Area 11-Q Orange County Spring Classic (U10 - U19)
We are excited you will be joining us and we look forward to a fun tournament.
Please remember AYSO is a game for kids played by kids.
CHECK-IN
Coaches and players are to check-in 45-minutes before the team's first game at the field Headquarters Tent where the team’s first game is scheduled to be played.
Please present the following:
1. Roster signed by your RC or designated representative.
2. Four (4) game cards (line-up) filled out completely in advance.
3. Player ID Cards. Only those players with ID Cards are eligible to play.
4. AYSO Player Registration Forms for each player on the Roster.
If a player did not check-in with their team before their first game they need to go to field Tournament Headquarters accompanied by a team representative with the Roster, all remaining Game Cards, Player ID Card and their AYSO Player Registration Form. Once the player returns to the field they need to check-in with the referee before entering the game.
The Referee will conduct a Pre-game Equipment and Safety Inspection prior to the start of each game.
Pool Play Match duration: U-10: 25 minute halves / U-12 and above: 30 minute halves
To keep the games on schedule there will be no warming up on the field of play between games. As soon as the previous game has ended, teams must clear the field and the teams for the next game must take their places.
As a participant in the Orange County Spring Classic each coach and team agrees to appear for all scheduled games.
A maximum of two (2) coaches shall be allowed to instruct the team during the game.
All games shall be played at the time and field as scheduled.
AMERICAN YOUTH SOCCER ORGANIZATION (AYSO)
Vision Statement
To provide world class youth soccer programs that enrich children’s lives
Mission Statement
The AYSO Mission is to develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs which promote a fun, family environment based on the AYSO philosophies.
AYSO Philosophies
Everyone Plays - Our region’s goal is for kids to play soccer so we mandate that every player on every team must play at least half of every game.
Balanced Teams - Each year we form new teams as evenly balanced as possible because it is fair and more fun when teams of equal ability play.
Open Registration - Our program is open to all children between 4 and 18 years of age who want to register and play soccer. Interest and enthusiasm are the only criteria for playing.
Positive Coaching - Kids win when they are built up, not when they are torn down! We train and encourage our coaches to make the extra effort to understand and offer positive help to our players, rather than negative criticism.
Good Sportsmanship - We strive to create a positive environment based on mutual respect, rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude, and our program is designed to instill good sportsmanship in every facet of AYSO.
Player Development - We believe that all players should be able to develop their soccer skills and knowledge to the best of their abilities, both individually and as members of a team, in order to maximize their enjoyment of the game.

Coaches please share this with your parents:
Parent Code of Conduct
As a parent, you play a special role in contributing to the needs and development of youngsters.
Through your encouragement and good example, you can help assure that all the boys and girls learn good sportsmanship and self-discipline. In AYSO, young people learn to work together, to sacrifice for the good of the team, to enjoy winning and deal appropriately with defeat - all while becoming physically fit and healthy. Best of all, they have fun.
Support Your Child
Supporting your child by giving encouragement and showing interest in their team is very important.
Help your child work toward skill improvement and good sportsmanship in every game. Teach your child that hard work and an honest effort are often more important than victory - that way your child will always be a winner despite the outcome of the game!
Always Be Positive
Parents serve as role models for their children. Become aware of this and work to be a positive role model. Applaud good plays by your child's team as well as good plays by the opposing team.
Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from youth sports activities.
Remember: Your Child Wants To Have Fun
Remember that your child is the one playing soccer, not you. It's very important to let children establish their own goals - to play the game for themselves. Take care not to impose your own standards and goals on them.
Don't put too heavy a burden on your child to win games. Surveys reveal that 72% of children would rather play for a losing team than ride the bench for a winning team.
Children play for the fun of playing.
Reinforce Positive Behavior
Positive reinforcement is the best way to help your child achieve their goals and their natural fear of failure. Nobody likes to make mistakes. If your child does make one, remember it's all part of learning, so encourage your child's efforts and point out the good things your child accomplished.
Don't Be a Sideline Coach or Referee
Coaches and referees are usually parents just like you. They volunteer their time to help make your child's youth soccer experience a positive one. They need your support too.
That means refraining from coaching or refereeing from the sidelines. As a volunteer organization, there's usually always an opportunity for you to take your interest in coaching or refereeing to the next level and become one yourself!

AYSO Player Pledge
In my words and action, I pledge to:
1. Play for the sake of playing a game, not just to please a parent or coach.
2. Always give my best effort and work as hard for my teammates as I do for myself.
3. Treat all players as I would like to be treated.
4. Be a team player and not show off or hog the ball.
5. Be a good sport and acknowledge good plays whether they are made by my team or my
opponents.
6. Abide by the Laws of the Game.
7. Cooperate with my coaches, teammates, opponents and the referee.
8. Never argue with or complain about referee calls or decisions.
9. Control my temper when I feel I have been wronged.
10. Remember that the object of the game is to win, but the goal is to enjoy myself.
